Les Stradley of Mountain Air Country Club was the winner of the 2011 Taylor Chitty Pro-Am hosted by River Bend Golf Club. Les's 69 gave him a one stroke victory over Cory McEwen of Village Greens Country Club and Derrick DeHart of Starmount Forest CC. The tournament benefited the First Tee of Cleveland County. Thanks go to River Bend Golf Club and Trey Wyatt for hosting the event. The 2011 MCPGA Match Play Champion was crowned on Tuesday May 3rd. Congratulations goes to Tom Burick of Highlands Country Club. He outlasted Mike Lawrence with a 4&3 victory on Tuesday afternoon. Bret James of Blowing Rock Country Club was victorious in the consolation match beating Tony Sams 2&1. Congratulations to all match winners and a huge Thank You goes to Austin Bell and the entire staff at Balsam Mountain Preserve for making the Match Play a huge success. Thanks goes to Julian Taylor of Titleist for providing balls to all the qualifiying participants and to Craig Reynolds of Nike Golf for sponsoring the event. Congrats to the 15 qualifiers who survived a tough, windy day at Kenmure CC. Defending Champion Jerry Haas and the 15 other qualifiers will tee it up on Monday May 2nd and Tuesday May 3rd at Balsam Mountain Preserve in Sylva, North Carolina.
